The SkyHigh Odditorium cultivates the development of individual aerialists through providing a combination of instruction in skills, technique and a multi-tiered approach to performance as instruction. The aerial journey begins with the individual as a cross-genre artist and visionary, coming to this new art form as an intuitive and layered creator. Through Madamn Burnz’ philosophy of aerial accountability, which emphasizes that personal responsibility and dependability is in service of the communal good, and her implementation of a flexible and compassionate framework of consistency, she is able to fuel the inspiration in students to hold space for their pushing of boundaries, expression, and the finding of purpose in their study. As an immersive environment, which includes the studio, an event space and gallery, a store, and a shared living space, SHO has community at the core of its teachings. Aerialists in training at SHO are students of aerial, as well as part of the life of the space, which provides the opportunity to experience, expand or bring in other disciplines and participate in SHO events, production, performance, communal living, instruction, or administration in numerous ways.
